Learn Bellydance in Newcastle (Adamstown) NSW
Authentic Egyptian Oriental dance, taught by a highly trained teacher, with a focus on personal growth, musicality and cultural connection.
Winter (Term 3) Bellydance courses will begin in late July.
Bookings are now open! Join us on Tuesdays evenings at a beautiful studio in Adamstown with purpose-build floors, mirrors, air conditioning and plenty of parking.
This year we are only running Fundamentals level classes. These suit beginners, or dancers with some experience who want to refresh and deepen their foundations. We hope that by next year, if everyone attends consistently, there will be enough dancers to open a Beyond Beginners (Level 2) class as well.
Please share with your friends, too!
About your teacher, Tara Yasmin
Beginning in Wollongong with Cinnamon Twist Belly Dance, Tara Yasmin has grown as a dancer through taking classes internationally, travelling around the world for intensive workshops; and through dedicated personal practice. Now an experienced professional, she has performed and taught in Sydney and Melbourne for several years.
As much as she has learned from her international teachers, Tara owes her gratitude to friends and colleagues with Middle Eastern backgrounds who have generously shared their knowledge and experience. Her personal style has evolved from this combination of formal and informal tuition. The masterful demonstration of belly dance technique is important, but time spent in relaxed social settings has shown her that it is the right tunes and attitude that make the party! Above all, honouring and paying homage to the cultures of origin of Middle Eastern dance is fundamental to her dance approach.
“My aim as a Middle Eastern Dance teacher is to facilitate connection, cultivate safe and expressive dance technique while supporting a kind, joyful, and most of all FUN class environment. My experience as a belly dance performer and teacher over the years has emphasised to me that connection to culture, ourselves, the dance community, and our audience is the heart of our art form. I'm looking forward to connecting, laughing and dancing with you!”

Bellydance Fundamentals: Choreo
Learn (or improve) your moves while putting them into action with a choreography.
Choreography helps you understand the dance better by seeing how movements fit to various kinds of music, how they connect together into phrases, and how we can use space. It builds your memory and consolidates your skills. We might even have a performance opportunity down the track. Plus, improve your fitness, co-ordination, elegance, core strength and more, alongside other women who often become good friends by dancing together.
For those with some bellydance experience, your teacher will challenge you to go deeper, to refine your movements and develop finer control and elegance.
LEVEL: All Welcome. Perfect for beginners. For those with some bellydance experience, your teacher will challenge you to go deeper, to refine your movements and develop finer control and elegance.
Pricing: 10 classes $180 per person.
