A collaboration with Bayt Raqs al Iraqi: fostering cultural awareness and quality training in the dances, music and rhythms of Iraq.
About your teacher Andrea, and Bayt Raqs al-Iraqi
Andrea has trained extensively with the world's leading Iraqi dance instructors, including renowned teacher Assala Ibrahim. She has danced at countless events in Sydney’s Iraqi community, amongst whom she has a reputation for offering authentic and skilled performances. Her teaching is grounded in a deep respect for the culture, supported by strong technique, cultural insights, and a genuine passion for the art form.
Andrea’s new project, Raqs al Iraqi, is the online house of Iraqi dance, music and culture. It includes an ever-growing resource library; alongside events and learning opportunities.
Within that platform. Bayt Raqs al-Iraqi is a structured dance pathway, including both face-to-face and online formats. Inspire Bellydance is proud to co-facilitate these lessons. The goal is to offer a progressive Iraqi dance training program that builds a strong foundation in technique, music, rhythm, cultural context, and stylistic understanding. Each course builds on the previous one, allowing students to develop and build their skills step-by-step and within a meaningful context.
