NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Zumba Gold

Chatswood, Rozelle and Zoom (online)

Dance yourself around the globe, and improve your fitness while enjoying happy upbeat music from all over the world. Our Zumba Gold classes are low impact so they're easy on the joints; and our course structure means that we can start with absolute basics, and build up our repertoire as the weeks go by.

Yoga for Dancers

Zoom (online)

Learn poses, breathwork and more - with the opportunity to request poses for your particular needs. Experience benefits in strength and range of motion, as well as body awareness and mental focus. Absolute beginners welcome, along with past yogis who will consolidate your foundations and deepen your practice.

Bellydance Fundamentals

Suitable for absolute beginners, ‘home’ and self-trained dancers or anyone with up to a year of bellydance class experience

Auburn, Chatswood & Rozelle: Learn a Veil Routine

Starting with basic moves like shimmies and hip drops, we will build into combinations, plus explore how to dance with a chiffon veil. We've chosen a famous song that spans Arabic, Turkish and Persian cultures: each language has its own version. There will be optional performance opportunities.

Bankstown & Eastwood: Learn a Routine to “Basboussa”

Starting with basic moves like shimmies and hip drops, we will build into combinations, then put it all together.  "Basboussa" is an Egyptian dessert, and the song teases a boy who eats it all day. There will be optional performance opportunities.

City and Liverpool (Chipping Norton) and by recording (streaming on-demand): Moves and Musicality

A structured course to learn (or consolidate and refine) bellydance moves like shimmies, hip drops, circles and eights; plus how to match them to music and “free dance”. It's our signature course, and it's the best start you could ever make on your bellydance journey! Also perfect for dancers with experience, who want to deepen and improve their technique.

Level Up like a Legend

Every famous bellydance star has had their own unique style, yet they are united by a strong foundation in the core movements of Raqs Sharqi. Discover several legends of bellydance, unpack their signature steps, improve your technique by challenging yourself to move like them, and build your own style in the process!

(We’ll also keep practising last term’s routine so it’s ready to perform at our Winter Hafla in July.)

Bellydance Intermediate-Advanced

Suitable for dancers with at least 3 years of bellydance class experience. Please consult us before choosing this class if it’s new to you, as we must assess you individually.

Chatswood & Online: Flamenco Fusion and more

Spanish flavours meet bellydance hips in this fiery and sensual cross-cultural choreography, developed from our World Fusion course last year. For extra swooshing fun, we'll also incorporate use of a manton (shawl: any large square or triangular scarf will do) and / or large ruffled skirt. Depending on students' preferences, we may also: - continue practising our Haggala inspired routine - share learnings from Melissa Gamal's teachings at WAMED Festival - and more.
